Biography

Kira joined the Department of European & International Studies (EIS) at King’s College in January 2022. She has completed a PhD in International Development from SOAS, University of London, and holds an MSc in Labour, Social Movements and Development. Before joining EIS, Kira taught in the Department of Development Studies at SOAS and the Department of International Development at King’s.

Kira’s research focuses around working classes’ interaction with the state, primarily in Tunisia. She takes a critical Marxist approach to understand the state’s role in shaping the working class to meet development needs.
