
Biography
Dr Laura Wilde is a Research Psychologist with experience in respiratory health and wellbeing, digital health and qualitative research. Dr Wilde holds a PhD in Psychology from Coventry University, where she explored the lived experiences of people with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) using activity monitors, alongside healthcare practitioners’ perspectives on their clinical application. She also holds an MSc in Health Psychology from the University of Southampton and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Winchester.
She is a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society and an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She has led and contributed to multiple NHS England and NIHR-funded projects, in previous research roles at Coventry University, the University of Leicester, and the University of Southampton. Laura secured a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship from Coventry University to co-create the COPD and Smartwatches website and video to support self-management.
Dr Wilde’s expertise lies in qualitative research, intervention development, and behavioural science. She has published in high-impact journals and presented at national and international conferences, including the European Respiratory Society Congress and British Thoracic Society Winter Meeting. She has supervised PhD and MRes students and teaches qualitative research methods.
