Senior Research Fellow in Knowledge Mobilisation
Biography
Liz has over 20 years’ experience working at the boundary between evidence and policy. She has worked for several universities and for governments. She has specialised in research and evidence-informed policy in the field of health inequalities and now works with the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration South London. She is known for developing research with decision-makers and communities to prevent human trafficking and exploitation, making meaningful impact with the UK Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner on public health approaches to modern slavery.
Liz has worked in evidence synthesis for policy, including a role at Public Health England. She currently leads a UK team that mobilises evidence with local government. Knowledge for Public Health (KNOW-PH) is funded by NIHR Public Health Research and makes evidence accessible, relatable and actionable. She has been an NIHR Knowledge Mobilisation Research Fellow, is a Visiting Professor at the University of Nottingham’s Rights Lab and is Chair of the Advisory Group for the Black and ethnic minority Anti-Slavery Network (BASNET).
