Lu is a Research Associate at King’s College London working within the EMBRACE programme in the Department of AI in Preventive Medicine. Her research focuses on the use of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) in pregnancy, particularly its potential role in improving the diagnosis and management of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM).

Prior to joining King’s, Lu worked as an obstetrician in Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine Affiliated International Peace Maternal and Child Health Hospital, China. She obtained her Master’s degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2018, where her research examined the impact of maternal obesity and weight loss on maternal and neonatal outcomes.

Lu completed her PhD in Medicine at King’s College London in 2025. Her doctoral research involved prospective cohort studies investigating the natural history, risk factors, and long-term outcomes of depression. During her PhD, she presented her work at several international conferences and was twice awarded the Postgraduate Research Award for oral presentations.

Lu has authored multiple original research publications in leading medical journals, including journals in the Lancet family and PLOS Medicine, as first author. Her current research interests lie at the intersection of digital health, GDM, and the application of emerging technologies to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes.
