Thesis Title
Learning through installation art interactions: an exploration of innovative approaches to gallery and museum visitor experiences.
Abstract
Lydia’s research on the interactions of museum and gallery visitors with installation art examines the role that these interactions play within the artistic process and their significance or impact on the artwork, the artist, the organisation and the visitor experience. Through this examination she aims to explore how museums and galleries can develop new ways for becoming more inclusive and relevant to wider and more diverse audiences .Her study stems from her experience as an arts educator, dancer and choreographer and her arts-based methodological approach involves movement as inquiry as well as narrative writing, applied to different stages of the research, from data collection to analysis and interpretation.
