Biography

Dr Marius Tiba is a Lecturer in Pure Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics, King's College London. He obtained a BA and Master of Mathematics from Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge and, in 2021, he completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge, under the supervision of Professor Bela Bollobas.

Following his PhD, Dr Tiba was a post-doc of excellence at Instituto de Matematica Pura e Aplicada (IMPA) in Rio de Janeiro, working with Professor Robert Morris. From 2022 to 2024, he was a Titchmarsh Research Fellow at the University of Oxford.

From 2024, Dr Tiba joined the Department of Mathematics at King’s College London, as a Lecturer in Pure Mathematics.

Research

Dr Tiba’s research focuses on problems with a geometric flavor that have roots in analysis, probability and combinatorics.#

Teaching

In 2024-2025, Dr Marius Tiba lectured Complex Analysis and conducted tutorials for Sequences and Series. He supervised dissertation projects on Stability of Geometric Inequalities and Ramsey theory.

Dr Tiba is the secondary PhD supervisor of Albert Rehak at KCL and is also supervising Zhaoyang Liu at the London School of Geometry and Number Theory (LSGNT).
