Biography
After receiving the Monkugakabushi (MEXT) scholarship in Japan, Matin started her research with an interest in immune checkpoint blockade therapy in the lab of Professor Tasuku Honjo. She then obtained her PhD. with the thesis title "underlying mechanism of exacerbated contact hypersensitivity (CHS) following PD-1 inactivation”.
Dr Ashoori recently joined the St John’s Institute of Dermatology team at King’s College London working with Dr Paola DiMeglio as a post-doctorate, aiming to investigate the AHR/CYP1A1 axis comprehensively. Her focus is on establishing a multi-modal platform to study skin information through how physiological AHR/CYP1A1 signalling in skin regulates skin inflammation. This integrative approach may lighten the way toward the development of novel therapeutic strategies for inflammatory skin disease.
