Dr Mohsin Masood

Research Associate (EHR Phenotyping)

Biography

Dr Mohsin Masood is a Research Associate in Electronic Health Record (EHR) Phenotyping at King’s College London, within the Department of Population Health Sciences, Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine.

His research focuses on developing reproducible phenotyping frameworks and data-driven methods for extracting and analysing disease cohorts from large-scale healthcare databases, including UK Biobank, SAIL Databank, and linked NHS electronic health records. His work sits at the intersection of health data science, epidemiology, and machine learning, with a particular interest in disease trajectory modelling, multimorbidity, and early disease detection using longitudinal clinical data. He applies advanced computational methods, including natural language processing, process mining, and machine learning, to improve cohort definition, risk stratification, and clinical research reproducibility.

Dr Masood holds a PhD in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde and has previously held research positions at the University of Leeds and Imperial College London. He has extensive experience working with population-scale health datasets and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across academia and clinical research.
