Biography

Nathan Hall is Senior Lecturer in Psychology and Criminology and Programme Lead, BSc in Psychology and Criminology at Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King's College London.

Nathan's principal scholarly interest lies in the field of hate crime and in particular criminal justice responses to hate crime in the United Kingdom, the United States, and elsewhere. He has published widely in this field, predominantly in terms of policing, but also in relation to other areas of the criminal justice system, and the motivations for hate offending and how these might be addressed.

He currently serves as an independent advisor to a range of organisations at international, national, and local levels, providing academic and research expertise to inform international and domestic policy and practice.

Nathan's learning and teaching expertise centres on academic leadership in achieving excellence in the provision of education, maintaining academic standards, and enhancing the student experience. He has extensive and varied experience of successfully delivering in each of these areas, particularly in relation to quality assurance issues and curriculum design and development.

  • Member of the National Police Chiefs’ Council’s Human Rights Task and Finish Group
  • Member of the ACRO (Criminal Records Office) Governance Board
  • Chair of the Crown Prosecution Service Wessex Hate Crime Scrutiny and Involvement Panel
