Biography

Queenie is a Joint PhD student at King’s College London and the University of Hong Kong (HKU), funded by the HKU Graduate School, and joined the Re:Spect Research group in 2023. She is supervised by Prof Francesca Happé, Prof Eva Loth, and Dr Kathy Shum (HKU).

Her research focuses on exploring cross-cultural patterns of how autistic and non-autistic people cope socially and their psychological and social adjustments in the UK and Hong Kong, using both quantitative and qualitative methods.

Queenie completed her BSc (Hons) in Psychology at University College London, and MSc in Genes, Environment and Development in Psychology and Psychiatry at the SGDP Centre, King’s College London. She is broadly interested in autism and wellbeing. Prior to beginning her PhD studentship, she worked as a research assistant on autism research projects with school-aged children and assisted in psychological services in public hospitals in Hong Kong.
