Biography

Dr Rosa Pohl is a Teacher of German at the Modern Language Centre at King’s College London. She holds a PhD and an MA in Germanic Languages and Literatures from the University of Pennsylvania, where she also taught German language courses. She attended the Westfälische Wilhelms Universität Münster, the Universität Regensburg and graduated summa cum laude with a BA in Modern Languages from Longwood University. Before joining King's College London, Dr Pohl had taught and lived in numerous countries around the world, including Germany, the USA, Egypt, Turkey and China. She was the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship as well as a DAAD Research Fellowship for her research on the role of women in German Baroque literature. In addition to teaching and working in academia, Dr Pohl has also worked as a German-Language Quality Assurance Tester for Google and as an Instructor of German and English at the German Embassy London.
