Sarah Dhupar

Wellbeing Advisor (Arts and Humanities)

Biography

"Hi, I’m Sarah, and I am the lead advisor for Arts and Humanities although I also support students from other faculties where needed. I have worked in student wellbeing for a long time, and have a passion and strong interest in supporting students’ mental health and wellbeing. Having worked within Higher Education for nearly 20 years, I have a very good understanding of the student journey. Being able to make an immediate difference to a student in helping them in their journey towards graduation is incredibly rewarding.

I pride myself on my ability to listen carefully and think clearly, and to be able to see things from all perspectives when it comes to the advice I give to students. With a warm and empathetic demeanor, I strive to empower students to overcome obstacles, build resilience, and thrive academically and personally. I am dedicated to playing my part in fostering a culture of care, inclusivity and support on campus, ensuring that all students have access to the resources they need to succeed and flourish.

I have recently undertaken Acceptance and Commitment Therapy training, and have received Level 2 Association for Psychological Therapies Accreditation.

Outside of work I love going on adventures with my son, and look after my own wellbeing by cooking healthy meals, and being outside as much as possible."
