After completing an undergraduate and master’s degree in Politics, Sarah completed a PGCE, qualifying her to teach social studies and English in secondary and post-compulsory education.

Following a career teaching and then managing in the Further/Higher education sector, Sarah spent seven years as the Academic Director of the international pathway and language centre at the University of Exeter. She joined King’s in 2022 as the Director of King’s Foundations, which houses the International Foundation, Pre-sessional and Academic Skills programmes. In 2023, Sarah was appointed as the Executive Director of the Centre for International Education and Languages, which, in addition to King’s Foundations, is the home of Summer Programmes and King’s Language Centre.

Sarah is the current Chair of the University Pathway Alliance (UPA), a body that represents UK universities that deliver foundation, presessional and pre-masters programmes in-house. She is committed to ensuring that provision across the sector is of a high quality, meets students’ needs and provides opportunities for staff to develop and thrive. Outside of work, Sarah also enjoys spending time with family and friends, swimming outdoors (especially in winter) and spending time at her tiny beach hut.
