Biography
Dr Simon J. Moody is a Senior Lecturer in Defence Studies and Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. He completed his AHRC funded PhD at King’s College London in 2014 and holds an MA with Distinction in Modern History from the University of Leeds and a BA (Hons) First Class in Contemporary Military and International History from the University of Salford.
Dr Moody's research interests include Cold War British history, the history of emotions, the social and cultural history of the British Army, military recruitment advertisements, theories of war, and nuclear strategy. His first monograph, Imagining Nuclear War in the British Army, 1945-1989, was published by Oxford University Press in 2019.
Dr Moody is interested in supervising PhD projects on any of his research interests. Please contact him with a proposal.
