Biography

Dr Sophie King is a Research Associate working on the T2K and Hyper-K experiments; currently at King’s College London and previously at Queen Mary University of London. Sophie focuses on neutrino interactions with matter, how these interactions are measured with detectors, and the inherent systematic uncertainty associated with modelling this.

Sophie also works with Grid and Cloud computing, primarily for the purpose of Monte Carlo simulations of neutrino interactions within our detectors. She did her PhD jointly between Queen Mary University of London in experimental particle physics, also on T2K, and the University of Southampton in theoretical physics, where she focused on Leptogenesis as a mechanism to explain the matter-antimatter asymmetry of the universe.
