Biography

Stefanny is an experienced researcher focused in the health and social care of older adults. She is skilled in systematic reviews, qualitative studies and patient and public engagement and involvement (PPIE). She has worked in research projects with academic, clinical and industry partners; with the aim of improving the care of people living with chronic and cute conditions. She has experience working with people in disadvantageous or vulnerable situations, and with impaired capacity to consent.

Currently, she is a researcher in the EMPOWER Dementia Network+, an initiative funded by the Alzheimer's Society, the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). The Network aims to address inequalities in dementia care for people with complex needs and their families. In this role, Stefanny engages with community partners, lived experts, practitioners, researchers, and policy makers to drive priorities to lever societal change for high-quality dementia care.

She completed a BSc in Neuroscience and Mental Health at Carleton University, a MSc in Dementia (Mental Health) at University College London (UCL) and in Epidemiology and Global Health at the University of Oxford.
