Dr Steve Connor was appointed as a consultant neuroradiologist at King’s College Hospital, London in 2002. He also holds an honorary post as a consultant head and neck radiologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. He was promoted to Adjunct Reader in head and neck imaging in 2019. He is the past president of the British Society of Head and Neck Imaging (BSHNI) and the current visiting professor for the Royal College of Radiologists and BSHNI. He has authored over 180 peer reviewed articles (h index 35) and has written seven book chapters. He has acted as deputy or associate editor for three journals and has been guest editor for two special editions.

His main research interests are in otology, head and neck cancer and skull base imaging. He is chief investigator for studies involving quantitative DWI-MRI for the prediction of treatment outcomes in head and neck cancer, DTI-MRI for the pre-operative identification of the facial nerve prior to vestibular schwannoma surgery and the imaging of endolymphatic hydrops on ultra-high field MRI. He is a member of three PhD thesis committees and has supervised an academic clinical fellowship research project as well as several MSc projects.

He is an elected executive member of the European Society of Head and Neck Radiology, Chair of the ESHNR Education committee examiner and co-leads a European mentoring program for head and neck radiologists. He has been a scientific committee member for five international meetings, has organised a number of national conferences, and is a past member of the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) professional learning and development committee. He has written national imaging guidelines and has been a NICE guideline committee member on two occasions. He is actively involved in radiology and ear nose and throat/maxillofacial training programmes and leads the annual London temporal bone radiology course. He receives regular invites to lecture at national and international meetings.
