Biography
Vassilis is Director of Industry Partnerships for the Industry Partnerships Research Office (IRPO), part of King’s Innovation Catalyst.
KIC brings together the King's IRPO, IP & Licensing the Translational Research Office teams under a single structure to provide end-to-end support on collaborative research development, translation and commercialisation for King’s researchers.
Prior to this role, Vassilis worked on biomedical academia-industry collaborations at UCL Innovation & Enterprise, helping to deliver numerous partnerships with pharma, biotech, techbio and technology partners, as well as supporting UKRI innovation initiatives.
Previously, Vassilis co-founded and led the growth stage of a UK molecular diagnostics & digital health start-up. Before that, he worked as a molecular & cell biology researcher in developmental neurobiology and cardiovascular tissue engineering. He holds an BSc in Genetics (Queen Mary), MSc in Clinical Neurosciences (UCL) and DPhil in Muscle Biology (University of Sussex).
