Biography
My research focuses on how social and environmental factors influence the biological pathways underlying chronic diseases. Currently, I am examining how socioeconomic deprivation shapes proteomic and gut microbiome changes associated with multimorbidity. During my PhD, I investigated gut microbiome alterations in non-communicable diseases, identifying disease-associated microbial signatures and functional shifts.

Menni Lab
The main focus of our research group is to uncover the molecular mechanisms underlying cardiometabolic, inflammatory and age-related diseases, by integrating large scale multi-omics datasets and to explore how these mechanisms can be modulated through diet and other interventions
News
People's gut bacteria worse in areas with higher social deprivation
Living in a poorer neighbourhood in the UK could impact the make-up of your gut microbiome, potentially leading to worse health.
