Yuheng Ren is currently pursuing his PhD in the Department of Informatics at King's College London. His research interests lie at the intersection of human-computer interaction and data visualisation, with a particular focus on the human factors underlying how people perceive, interpret, and make sense of visual representations. His work investigates how visualisations can be designed to render complex and abstract information more comprehensible and meaningful to diverse audiences. This research is situated primarily within the context of the environmental impacts of generative AI, where he explores how information about energy consumption and carbon emissions can be effectively visualised and communicated to end users.

Before joining King's, Yuheng completed his MSc in Design Informatics at the University of Edinburgh, where he developed an interest that has since grown into the focus of his current doctoral research.
