
Dr Yunus Isik
Research Associate, Centre for Sustainable Business
Biography
Dr Yunus Isik is a Research Associate at the Centre for Sustainable Business at King's Business School.
As a researcher in entrepreneurship and finance, he investigates how early-stage investors – venture capital funds and angel networks – shape the ventures and communities they back, and how this capital can fuel sustainable growth. He is particularly interested in the practices and priorities of impact investors.
Yunus’s key areas of expertise are:
- Venture capital and angel investment
- Impact investing
- Social entrepreneurship
Yunus holds a PhD in Strategy from the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School, a Research Master’s in Strategy from the Rotterdam School of Management, and a double major in Economics and Management from Boğaziçi University.
Before joining King’s Business School, he was a Research Assistant with the Oxford Future of Finance and Technology Initiative and led the Oxford Sustainable Finance Student Society.
At Oxford he taught Entrepreneurship and Innovation (undergraduate), Financial Strategies for Growth (executive education), and Foundations of Strategy (doctoral seminar).
Yunus is an active member of the Academy of Management and the Strategic Management Society, reviewing and presenting research that bridges entrepreneurial finance and societal impact.
