Biography
Dr Zhi Li is a Lecturer in the Department of Engineering at King’s College London. He has a background in computational mechanics of solids, with research focused on understanding how microstructures and defects govern the deformation, fatigue and fracture of materials.
His current interests centre on computational mechanics of materials, multiscale modelling, and materials behaviour under extreme conditions. A broader theme of his research is extreme mechanics for sustainability, with the aim of developing mechanistic understanding and computational approaches for stronger, more damage-tolerant and more reliable structural materials.
Before joining King’s, Zhi was a Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University and previously a Research Scientist at the Institute of High Performance Computing, A*STAR, Singapore. He received his PhD from Brown University and his BS from Peking University.
