ICALD WP4 Co-Production

Led by Dr Kathy Leadbitter and Prof Vicky Slonims, the fourth Work Package of the ICALD research programme brought together different stakeholders including adults with learning disabilities, family carers, social care staff and health professionals, to co-produce an approach with the ICALD research team, to be implemented in and evaluated in the next and final work package of the ICALD programme (WP5).

Learnings from work packages 1-3 were shared and used to guide the development of an approach to support staff in social care settings to improve their communication with adults with learning disabilities.

We collaborated with Nifty Fox, a creative storytelling company, to visually represent stakeholders’ experiences and the key learnings from the workshops.

Illustration divided into two sections titled "Learnings" and "Sharing our experiences," using blue, yellow, and white colors with hand-drawn icons and text. It highlights key points such as ideal staff job descriptions, training, communication, support, value, benefits of face-to-face meetings, group discussions promoting inclusivity, mixed perspectives, measuring wellbeing and happiness, and the enjoyment of the experience.
An illustration by Nifty Fox capturing stakeholders’ experiences of participating in the workshops.

We would like to say THANK YOU to all those that contributed to this Work Package!
