The recently established London Advanced Therapies (LAT) brings together the London scientific community working in the field of cell and gene-based therapies.
Funded by Research England, and led by King’s, Imperial College London and University College London, LAT aims to catalyse London’s capabilities and outputs in the area of Advanced Therapies, through fostering collaborative work, facilitating commercial partnerships and creating a microclimate for innovation.
We aim at positioning London, and the UK, as a global leader in Advanced Therapies commercialisation, with sustainability embedded through the breadth of commercial partnerships

Working closely with our delivery partner, MedCity, we have launched various initiatives:
- Confidence in Collaboration: A funding scheme designed to initiate new collaborations between London-based Colleges;
- Collaborate to Innovate round 2 (powered by MedCity): A funding scheme to foster and support collaborative projects between commercial partners (SMEs) and academic research groups based in London who is working in advanced therapies;
- Activities to map the landscape of expertise and research capabilities in London;
- Advanced Therapies Network – Powered by MedCityDesign of educational programmes to train the next generation of workforce relevant to developing and delivering a gene and cell therapy products.
