Personal Grants evaluation: the impact of unconditional cash transfers to people with experiences of homelessness
The Policy Institute's EDIT Team are currently conducting an impact evaluation of the "Personal Grants" intervention, which provides unconditional cash transfers to people with experiences of homelessness. This builds on our previous study which served as a proof of concept.
The evaluation will test the impact of receiving a personal grant on housing security, financial security, housing quality, satisfaction and stability, wellbeing, and social connectedness. To do this in the most rigorous way possible, the causal impact of personal grants on the above outcomes will be determined using a randomised controlled trial. This will be complemented by an implementation and process evaluation.
The project is being commissioned by the Centre for Homelessness Impact (CHI), and funded by St Martin-in-the-Fields and Citi Foundation.
