Our combined clinical and scientific research strategy focuses on understanding the physiological trajectory of a healthy pregnancy and the mechanisms driving pregnancy complications such as spontaneous preterm birth. Our aim is to identify and validate new solutions for risk prediction, prevention, and treatment of preterm labour and dysfunctional labour that are applicable to a diverse range of socio-economic and geographical settings.
Pregnancy offers a window into future maternal and child health. Through our mother-child cohorts, our goal is to improve outcomes for pregnant women and their children and promote health throughout the life course.
