This programme develops well-rounded engineers who are equipped to lead in any sector, domain, or team. You'll gain a thorough grounding in electronic engineering and emerging technologies, complemented by expertise in business operations and strategy. You’ll also develop your awareness of building human-centred and sustainable products, processes, and systems.
Through this unique skillset, you’ll be able to lead on innovative products, advanced manufacturing processes, and manage multidisciplinary, large-scale teams. The programme also teaches you to maintain a holistic view of the entire business system, facilitating collaboration, removing barriers, and delivering impactful solutions.
You'll explore a dynamic curriculum that combines key management topics like operations and logistics, project management, and business innovation, with advanced engineering fields and key technical skills, such as coding for data and systems analysis, and simulations. You can also choose from cutting-edge modules in energy – including renewable energy generation and storage, machine learning and quantum information, computing and algorithms, digital communications, wireless networks, and information theory.
Throughout the course, you'll apply your skills by tackling projects in interdisciplinary teams. You’ll also tackle a major individual project, where you’ll plan, design, and create a novel prototype or model to solve a real-world industrial problem. This could be designing networks for 6G and the future of telecoms, or developing smart cities, including future transport, technologies, and sustainable computing and data storag. As part of these projects, we encourage students to explore the problem from multiple points of view, including ethical and sustainable dimensions. At the end of the course, you'll present and demonstrate your project, gaining valuable communication and presentation skills.
