Updated Mitigating Circumstances Procedure and Form
Students studying on a Pre-sessional course should refer to relevant sections of the Pre-sessional programme specific information.
It is a College requirement that all students take exams or submit their assignments at times prescribed by the College. However, it is acknowledged that exceptionally, through illness or other good cause a student may be unable to meet these requirements.
In such instances, College regulations allow students to submit details of their mitigating circumstances to their home department to be considered by the board of examiners. The board will use the information submitted to determine whether the mitigating circumstances provided by the student are an acceptable reason for missing an assessment.
For more details visit the understanding the mitigating circumstances procedure page, see the relevant document index or review the frequently asked questions information.
For additional support or for help with completing any documents contact the King's College Student Union (KCLSU) Advice Team.
