UK applicants

Standard requirements

A minimum 2:1 undergraduate Bachelor’s (honours) degree

If you have a lower degree classification, or a degree in an unrelated subject, your application may be considered if you can demonstrate significant relevant work experience, or offer a related graduate qualification (such as a Masters or PGDip).

Programme specific requirements

2:1 undergraduate degree in law/economics/related discipline, or be a qualified barrister or solicitor. Applications from candidates who have achieved a comparable academic level through past studies and where previous study, work or experience has made the applicant a suitable candidate for admission may also be considered.

In order to meet the academic entry requirements for this programme you should have a minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree with a final mark of at least 60% or above in the UK marking scheme. If you are still studying you should be achieving an average of at least 60% or above in the UK marking scheme.

In addition to the application documents for admission to the programme, King’s College London may also require you to fill out this linked questionnaire to assess your fee status. The fee status does not affect the tuition fee for this programme.

Once your eligibility to study for your chosen programme has been verified, you may hear directly from King’s with the prompt to fill out the form and send the required documents as evidence.

It will help your timely admission if you had the detailed form and the documents prepared.

Selection Process

Students apply through the portal at Informa Connect.

We aim to turn around applications within four weeks.

Personal statement and supporting information

You will be asked to submit the following documents in order for your application to be considered. Please apply via the Informa application portal. 

Personal statement   Yes  

A personal statement is required. This can be uploaded as an attachment to the online application form (maximum 2 pages).

Previous Academic Study   Yes  

A copy of your official degree certificate. Applicants with academic documents issued in a language other than English, will need to submit both the original and official translation of their documents.

References   Yes  

One professional or, if you are a recent graduate, one academic reference. On headed paper and signed.

Other   Yes  

You may also wish to include a CV (Resume) or evidence of professional registration as part of your application. In addition you are asked to submit a certified copy of your passport page. English language proficiency test results if you are not a native English speaker.

Note      

King’s College London and Informa Connect reserve the right to request certified copies of any documents provided in the event that clear copies are not received or to verify their authenticity.

Application closing date guidance

We encourage you to apply as early as possible so that there is sufficient time for your application to be assessed. We may need to request further information from you during the application process.

  • Our first application deadline is on 26 July 2025 (23:59 UK time)
  • The final application deadline is on 25 August 2025 (23:59 UK time).

After the first application deadline:

  • if the programme is not yet full, we will continue to accept applications until all available places are filled up to the final application deadlines above
  • if the programme becomes full before the final application deadlines stated above, we will close the programme to further applications

Please note: Students apply via our experienced Distance Learning partner, Informa Connect, who deliver the Diploma programme in conjunction with King’s. Informa will guide you through the application process.

We recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible as we may need to request further information from you to assess your application.
