This is a well organised course, taught through high quality teaching materials, and administered in hard-copy and through an online support tool. As a general counsel working in continental Europe, I am convinced that this course is at the heart - if not is the heart - of EU competition law learning. It was a brilliant experience!

Course essentials

You will undertake a research project based on the teaching and learning completed in your PGDip course.

Please note students who upgrade to the MA award will have their PG Dip award revoked. This allows for the final MA award to be calculated using the module marks from the 120 credits of the PGDip previously taken and the mark for the MA dissertation. The revocation of the PG Dip award ensures marks are not double-counted across awards.

Application closing date guidance

We encourage you to apply as early as possible so that there is sufficient time for your application to be assessed. We may need to request further information from you during the application process.

  • The final application deadline is on 25 August 2026 (23:59 UK time).

If the programme becomes full before the final application deadlines stated above, we will close the programme to further applications. Please note, you will not be eligible for an application fee refund if we are unable to process further offers because places are filled and we close the course before the final application deadline.

To gain the EU Competition Law MA, students must first complete the EU Competition Law Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) modules totalling 120 credits at merit level or above. Students then take a dissertation module (60 credits) over a further year to achieve the MA.
