Careers in Physics
What jobs can physics graduates do?
We train physicists to be good problem solvers, to think logically and to apply mathematical and computational techniques to real problems. As such, our graduates are in high demand with employers recognising the wide range of skills that they possess.
King’s physics graduates can be found in a range of sectors including research, education, management, finance, medicine, tech, pharmaceuticals, and aerospace. This includes roles as data scientists, analysts, research scientists, quants, and engineers for companies including Santander, Freshfields, the NHS, the UK Foreign Office and TP ICAP.
A high number of our students also go on to further study in the Physics Department, and world-leading universities including Imperial, Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, and Harvard.
The Careers Service and the Department of Physics run a specifically tailored careers programme for Physics students, which includes skills sessions and visits from leading employers.
