Selection Process
Applications must be made online using King's Apply, the Admissions Portal. A non-refundable application fee of £85 applies.
Shortlisting for interviews will take place in early February.
Incomplete written applications will not be considered. Selection for interview will be based on academic criteria and evidence in the personal statement of understanding of the role and scope of physiotherapy in current healthcare and evidence of reflection on any relevant work experience or shadowing.
If invited to interview, these are expected to take place on 6th, 13th and 15th March 2024.
Personal statement and supporting information
You will be asked to submit the following documents in order for your application to be considered:
| Personal Statement | Yes |
A personal statement is required. Your personal statement is one of the many factors in the overall assessment of your application. We are looking particularly for evidence of appropriate commitment to, and realistic appreciation of, the academic physical and emotional demands of an accelerated masters degree programme and career in physiotherapy. We would normally expect that you will have undertaken some work experience in a caring environment and/or observation in clinical setting. If this is not possible, we look for evidence that you have worked in a setting where you can interact with the general public. Communication skills and the ability to work successfully in a team are of great importance. Your interests, achievements and contribution to your community are taken into account in addition to academic ability. We aim to ensure that all of our students can display those professional qualities, skills and attitudes that help to make competent and caring physiotherapists. If you have undertaken work in a healthcare setting, we would expect an additional professional reference relating to this. NOTE: When submitting an application on the King's Apply portal, the personal statement must be input directly into the personal statement box (no more than 4,000 characters). Do not attach a separate personal statement document – attached documents will not be considered. |

| Previous Academic Study | Yes |
A copy (or copies) of your official academic transcript(s), showing the subjects studied and marks obtained. If you have already completed your degree, copies of your official degree certificate will also be required. Applicants with academic documents issued in a language other than English, will need to submit both the original and official translation of their documents. Please also give your A-level (or equivalent qualification) results (school/college; date; subject; grade). |
| References | Yes | Two references are required with at least one academic. A professional reference will be accepted if you are currently in full-time employment. |
| Other | Optional | You may wish to include a CV (Resume) or evidence of professional registration as part of your application. |
