The Programme Development & Approval Sub-Committee (PDASC) is chaired by the Director of King’s Academy and brings together representatives from all faculties (Institutes/Schools) and key professional services staff to recommend final programme approval to the Academic Board.
The Programme Development and Approval Sub-Committee is responsible for the University’s curriculum portfolio, advising the College Education Committee and Academic Board on:
- the strategic development of new programmes, including programmes with new collaborative activities
- the level of college compliance with external regulatory bodies such as the Office for Students and the Consumer Protection legislation
- the extent to which the University’s curriculum complies with sector recognised standards.
Prior to submitting papers to PDASC, Faculties undertake discussions to identify likely resource requirements (including Marketing, IT, Library Services, Student Support, Admissions and Outreach), with the meetings of the Sub-Committee focusing on the academic content of proposed new programmes.
