Chief External Examiners
King's are introducing two new external examiner positions for 2022/23, to add to the strategic and operational oversight of the College’s Assessment Framework.:
Both roles will be pivotal in ensuring academic standards are upheld and the assessment process, at King’s, is fair and equitable.
The first position is a College Chief External Examiner role. This role will provide a strategic oversight of the soundness and robustness of the College’s assessment framework and will aid the Academic Standards Sub-Committee with its work by becoming a member of the committee, inputting into the committee’s deliberations. This role will hold an annual meeting with the second new role (Faculty Chief External Examiners) to bring an overview of how the College’s standards are across all Faculties, identifying themes (good practice or areas requiring consideration) that require the College’s deliberation. The College Chief External Examiner will be paid a fee of £1500 per year.
