At King’s College London, we are passionate about our people and committed to improving the student experience, creating a thriving staff community and supporting colleagues to deliver world leading and impactful research.
As the way we work, learn, research and socialise has evolved, we are working to create an environment for our students and staff to support their success. At the same time, we want to improve our environmental performance and preserve our heritage and listed buildings.
One of the ways we will achieve our aims is through Campus Futures, our programme of work to ensure we use our estate in a forward-thinking and efficient way, which inspires the very best learning, teaching and research.
You can find information about some of our current projects and recent developments below.
Pears Maudsley Centre for Children and Young People, Denmark Hill Campus

The £65m Pears Maudsley Centre for Children and Young People is set to be the world-leading centre for child and adolescent mental health.
Enhancing our laboratories, Strand and Waterloo campuses
To inspire collaboration and create an environment that nurtures success and supports growth, we’re creating new cutting-edge laboratories and facilities across our Strand and Waterloo campuses.
This work involves refurbishing our spaces to create new teaching and chemistry labs and more teaching spaces, which will support learning, research and innovation across King’s Interdisciplinary Science (KIS).
Bush House, South West Wing, Strand campus

The University purchased the freehold of Bush House, South West Wing which sits at the heart of our Strand campus in October 2022. Combined with our existing spaces and alongside the pedestrianisation of the Strand, it has the potential to create better facilities and a strong sense of campus for our students who study at our Strand campus, the staff who support them and the wider King’s community.
Development of the South-West Wing will provide a learning hub for students in a high quality and accessible building, subject to planning permission. We are at an early stage of a complex and detailed planning process and we’ll be inviting students and staff to engage with us as we develop the plans.
The aim is to be able to occupy the building in September 2027.
