Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES)

What is the Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES)?
The Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) 2021 will launch on Tuesday 16th March and will run until Monday 17th May (23:59 GMT).
You will receive an email to your university inbox with a unique link inviting you to complete the survey.
The PRES runs every two years, and gives you an opportunity to share your experience of completing a research degree at King’s. This is a national survey and the results are reviewed by the Senior Executive Team (SET), College Education Committee and the Postgraduate Research Student Sub-committee. The PRES also helps to enable the university to gather information about the experience of all research students currently on a doctoral or research master’s course.
Postgraduate Research Students are asked to rate their overall satisfaction with the quality of their course, how well elements of it have met their expectations, and their satisfaction within the following themes: supervision, resources, research culture, progress and assessment, responsibilities, support, research skills, professional development, opportunities, overall satisfaction, Covid-19 pandemic.
When is the Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES)?
The Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) 2019 will run from Tuesday 16th March to Monday 17th May 2021.
How can students complete PRES?
All postgraduate research students will receive an email from no-reply@jisc.ac.uk asking them to complete the survey.
What if students don't want to take part?
While we encourage students to utilise this opportunitiy to share their feedback and experiences, PRES is not compulsory. All student surveys at King’s are optional. Members of staff may encourage you to fill out the survey, but you are not obliged to tell them whether you have done so. This is because all student surveys at King’s are anonymous
PRES Charity Donation
We value the Postgraduate Research Experience Survey and we want to hear from as many of our PGR students as possible. We will donate £1 for every response we receive to the Centrepoint Homeless Charity.
