Sustainability budget:

The Sustainability Team are supported with an allocated budget that covers both the implementation of the sustainability strategy and the resourcing of the staff team.

The financial budget sits within the Estates and Facilities department and continues to be well supported and remains constant between 2019-20 to 2020-21 as it is recognised that initiatives developed help to support the overall King's Vision 2029 strategy as well as reducing the costs in other operational areas such as waste management and utilities. Over 2020-21, King's will invest at leat £2m into sustainability and carbon reduction, funded by grants from the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme, Salix, and university funding. Sustainability is listed as one of the enablers in King's Vision 2029 and is embedded as one of the five strategic priorities as part of the Service Strategy.
