Don't Be Trashy
Welcome to King's #Dontbetrashy campaign, aiming to inspire our students to reduce waste, avoid single-use plastics, and improve recycling of unavoidable waste.
As well as providing helpful guides to reducing waste, the #Dontbetrashy campaign includes piloting different behaviour change 'nudges', and measuring over the coming months which interventions have the greatest impact on reducing waste.
From community gallery posters showcasing our wonderful cleaning team, to eye-catching labels reminding to freeze leftovers, to a bespoke reuse kit filled with waste-saving gadgets, we're helping students adopt a minimal waste lifestyle (and save money in the process!).
All students can pledge to support the #DontBeTrashy campaign by clicking the 'Pledge Now' button, and can take action by following our handy guides.

In the Bathroom:
the simplest way to reduce waste in the bathroom is to switch from liquid shower gels to soap bars, and from liquid shampoo/conditioner to delicious smelling solid bars like those sold by Lush.
#Dontbetrashy has been developed in collaboration with Hubbub, a behavioural change charity that works to inspire people to make healthier, greener lifestyle choices, which more often than not help save money and bring communities together.
