Changes to where you find information on graduation
We’re making it easier for you to find information and support at King’s. This website content will soon be moving to Student Services Online (self-service.kcl.ac.uk) where you can easily search and browse a comprehensive, up to date range of articles that answer common questions.
Unfortunately, due to the global outbreak of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), we are unable to deliver our July graduation ceremonies, this was a difficult decision to make but the safety of our community of students, staff and visitors must come first.
Eligible students will still become graduates of King’s and receive their certificate in the post.
We understand that this will be disappointing news as graduation ceremonies are incredibly important in the life of the university and in celebrating the spectacular achievements of our students.
However, please be assured that this is a delay rather than a cancellation, and we are exploring all options to hold graduation celebrations at a future date for graduates, their families and supporters.
Will I be able to attend a Graduation Ceremony in the future?
Can I defer my place to the January 2021 ceremonies?
We fully expect to hold graduation celebrations again in London in the future, which will be open to all those cohorts of students affected by the present circumstances. We cannot predict yet exactly when that will be, but we will keep you informed as soon as the possibilities materialise.
I was eligible to attend a pervious Graduation Ceremony but deferred my place to July 2020. Will I be able to attend a ceremony in the future?
As ceremony places are limited, to be fair to all of our students we are unable to accept any requests to defer to January 2021 until we have confirmed alternative arrangements for July 2020.
We are working on all available options to ensure that you are able to attend a celebration with your loved ones.
Will I still receive my transcript and degree certificate or award?
If you had already deferred your graduation ceremony to July 2020 from a previous cohort, you will be offered the same arrangements as other students due to graduate in July 2020. This will not count as a second deferral.
I am a parent or guest of a graduating student. How can I keep up to date with the latest information regarding what options are available?
All graduates will receive their certificates by post. Please note that attending a graduation ceremony is not a requirement of receiving your award. For further information on certificates and transcripts please visit the Boards and Awards pages.
Who can I contact with additional questions about Graduation Ceremonies?
We know that graduation ceremonies can be just as important to parents and supporters as they are to our students themselves. We will contact graduating students with an update as soon as we are able to. We will also keep our webpages up to date so please do check back regularly.

How can we assist with Visa Applications?
The graduation team are on hand to help with any queries you may have. Please email email@example.com and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
We understand that due to the delay, some students will need to apply for another Visa in order to attend their graduation. If you require a visa, we can provide you with a Visa Letter to assist the visa application process for yourself and your guests.
Once dates have been confirmed you will be able to request a Visa Letter for yourself or your guests during the online booking process.
Visa assistance letters produced by the Ceremonies & Events Team cannot be used to support a visa extension application, for assistance with this, please contact Student Advice & International Student Support
