Join us for the launch of Liam Cini-O'Dwyer's new book Your Expert Guide: The Human Body for Young Scientists on [26th February 2026].

Liam Cini-O'Dwyer presents a comprehensive and engaging exploration in this book, examining the remarkable systems and surprising capabilities of the human body for young readers aged 8 and above.

Published in partnership with the Royal Society of Biology and Hachette, this volume offers a definitive guide to understanding how our bodies work, from the astounding brain at the top of our heads to the tiny bones in our feet built for walking. The book represents a groundbreaking approach to biology education through its inclusive design, ensuring that all young readers can see themselves reflected in scientific learning.

Drawing on expertise in biology education, Cini-O'Dwyer and co-author Tom Jackson, meticulously charts the body's multifaceted functions: exploring powerful organs and their essential roles; revealing how different systems work together; providing clear explanations of complex biological processes; and offering guidance on maintaining health and wellbeing.

The book illuminates fundamental concepts in human biology through immersive artwork by Ola Szpunar, making scientific understanding accessible and engaging for curious young minds. Cini-O'Dwyer makes a compelling case for the importance of biological literacy from an early age, while championing representation and inclusivity as essential features of quality science education.

This volume serves as an essential resource for young scientists, educators, and parents while also offering valuable insights to anyone interested in understanding the remarkable machine we inhabit. By presenting complex biology in an accessible and inclusive format, the book provides both foundational knowledge and inspiration for future scientific exploration.
