Join Professor Mark Mulligan and Dr Arnout van Soesbergen from the Department of Geography and the ReSET project on a guided tour of the Strand Aldwych project and, in particular, our dense network of weather and air pollution monitoring stations on the Strand and Aldwych. The monitoring stations are helping us better understand the net impact of the project on personal exposure to pollution.

We will walk around the project, visit a range of our installed monitoring instruments and cover the following topics: evidence of the history of pollution in the area; the background to the Strand Aldwych project; the science of monitoring particulate air pollution; the impact of diesel particulates on human health; the Internet of Things and what it means for urban environmental monitoring.

Where to meet: Outside the entrance to Strand Building (WC2R 2LS) on the south side of the Strand at 2:30pm. Please arrive five minutes early, if possible.

This event is organised in collaboration with The Northbank BID.
