Experimental Drawing with Peter Shenai - 29 October - 29 October 2021

Please note that this event has passed.

Draw, play, and discover with King’s artist-in-residence Peter Shenai. This workshop will involve drawing exercises and games to delight and intrigue. All King’s students are warmly invited to participate – no drawing “talent” is required.

Materials required: Please bring a couple of pens/pencils, some sheets of paper/sketchbook, and an open mind.

Type of interaction: This workshop will be predominantly "follow along". There will be an opportunity to share but this will be optional, and cameras and mics will not be required.

Recording: This session will be recorded to form part of a video archive of creative activities, however this will be edited to remove all participant's contributions.

Artist bio

The workshop has developed out of a collaboration with Professor Francesca Happé, of the Social, Genetic and Developmental Psychiatry Centre (SGDP) at King’s – ''Taking a line for a walk'': exploring the space between intelligence, creativity, drawing, and neurodiversity. Taking a critical stance on the role of drawing in psychological testing for IQ and cognitive development, Peter is developing a library of playful drawing exercises, which promote a diversity of stylistic responses to novel challenges with no “right answers”. See more on the project here.

This session will be delivered online via Zoom – sign up here to get the link.

This workshop is part of King’s At Home in Cultural London programme, which features video content, workshops, things to do in London and opportunities to connect with other students and explore the city. Enrol on KEATS to fully explore this free programme open to all King’s students.
