King’s Experts Series: AI, Quantum and Microtechnologies in Healthcare
Join us for our second King’s Experts Series of the academic year exploring the topic of ‘AI, Quantum and Microtechnologies in Healthcare’.
For over a decade, King’s College London engineering researchers have been working side-by-side with healthcare professionals to develop patient-centred innovations. Combining King’s research expertise with the clinical knowledge and infrastructure of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, they formed St Thomas’ MedTech Hub. A unique facility in the UK and within Europe, aiming to accelerate the integration of medical devices into health systems to enable better and earlier diagnosis and more effective treatment of disease and illness in patients.
We’ll be joined by leading King’s experts who will discuss cutting-edge research across medical imagining technologies, surgical robotics, quantum science and how these technologies are changing medical diagnosis, treatment and designing a future that empowers us to live well with technology.
You’ll hear from:
• Professor Rachel Bearon – Executive Dean of the Faculty of Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences.
• Professor Mohammad Reza Mousavi – Professor of Software Engineering
• Professor Christos Bergeles – Professor of Surgical Robotics
• Dr Jorge Cardoso – Reader in Artificial Medical Intelligence
• Professor Anne Vanhoestenberghe – Professor of Active Implantable Medical Devices
The session will last 60 minutes and will include a structured panel conversation followed by an opportunity for some questions from the audience.
