Non-CTIMP Research Network Launch
Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), Denmark Hill Campus, London

Join our launch event for talks and networking around demystifying regulatory approvals for experimental drug studies.
- Are you a researcher at King’s doing experimental drug studies that are not clinical trials?
- Do you want a better understanding of the approvals process?
- Do you want to connect with other researchers doing non-CTIMP drug research at the IoPPN?
Early-phase experimental drug research is crucial to high quality translational research and in the successful development of novel treatments in mental health. The Non-CTIMP Research Network is a peer support network and information hub that supports King’s College London researchers working on drug administration studies that do not fall under the category of Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Products (CTIMPs). It provides institutional information, legal information, regulatory precedents, and peer support to support researchers.
The network aims to substantially reduce the time and effort researchers spend trying to understand and navigate the various regulatory systems employed at King's, by simply giving researchers clear information and peer advice. The network works towards consistency, transparency and fairness in decision-making on non-CTIMP topics at King's and within King’s Health Partners (KHP). As a secondary aim, the network aims to improve cross-institutional communication about non-CTIMP regulation and research in the UK.
Agenda:
13:00 - Introduction to the Non-CTIMP Research Network - Dr Will Lawn, Network co-founder and Senior Lecturer, Psychology
13:15 - The Importance of Early Phase Experimental Drug Research - Professor Mitul Mehta, Professor of Neuroimaging and Psychopharmacology, King's IoPPN and Director of Centre for Innovative Therapeutics (C-FIT)
13:30 - The Joint SLaM R&D Office of SLaM and IoPPN – Dale Batham, R&D Governance and Quality Manager
13:45 - Network Materials: Walk Through - Catherine Bird, Network co-founder and NIHR Maudsley BRC PhD Student
