The Visual and Embodied Methodologies Network Presents:

'On the Verge of Silence: Sonic and Poetic Fragments. A Ritualized Reading of Colombia’s Truth Commission Final Report' - followed by a conversation with former commissioner Alejandro Castillejo

The ritualized reading is an itinerant pedagogy devised to share the stories collected by the Commission’s Testimonial Volume of the Final Report.

Soundscapes and testimonies are blended to create a particular atmosphere and a disposition to listening. On this occasion texts from the section “Conversations with Nature” about Nature as a subject of suffering will be read. The reading will also premier Castillejo’s coproduced sound work.

This is an in-person event, and will take place at The Chapel, Strand Campus. The evening will conclude with a drinks reception.

Please note that photography will take place at the event. If you have any questions or do not wish to be included in photography, please do contact us at vem@kcl.ac.uk or inform a member of staff at the event.
