The Social Justice: Towards Equity and Equality symposium will explore questions of equity and equality, which cut across all of the previously addressed symposia topics. We are particularly encouraging empirical and theoretical interrogations of policy and political pathways towards environmental and socio-political justice that account for historical and ongoing hierarchies of gender, race, class, sexuality, (dis)ability and migration status. We are open to quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods approaches across political economy, policy studies, behavioural economics, education, area studies etc.

This symposium is for researchers whose work challenges inequality and discrimination, and advances fairer and more inclusive societies.

PhD students and early career researchers are invited to submit abstracts (up to 250 words) to kate.a.hoskins@kcl.ac.uk and gloria.novovic@kcl.ac.uk  by Tuesday 22 July 2026. 

A prize of £500 will be awarded for the best talk, as chosen by a panel of School for Government academics.
