Meet the AVATAR team

TomCraig

Professor Tom Craig is the Principle Investigator of the AVATAR project, and leads both the research and treatment teams.

Tom qualified in medicine and trained in psychiatry, becoming the founder-director of the research team at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital that went on to establish the Sainsbury Centre for Mental Health, and to develop and disseminate models of community care that remain at the heart of mental health services in England today.  Tom became Professor of Community and Social Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience in 1990.
