King’s has five campuses in central London consisting of more than 100 buildings ranging in age from the 1780s to the current day. Many are listed and of great architectural significance. The campuses house a diversity of spaces, including teaching and learning environments, cutting edge research facilities, two chapels, cafes and restaurants, gyms and student residences.

The Campus Projects and Minor Works team undertake the full project lifecycle for projects across all the KCL campus and estate.

About the role:

The Project Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the successful delivery of capital, lifecycle, and campus improvement projects across the DSO team. Working closely with Project Managers, Associate Directors, and colleagues across Estates & Facilities, the postholder provides governance, financial, administrative, and operational support throughout the project lifecycle.

The role is responsible for maintaining accurate project information and ensuring effective project controls, including financial forecasting, procurement activities, governance documentation, reporting, and digital systems management. The Project Coordinator helps ensure that projects are delivered in line with internal processes, standards, and compliance requirements, while supporting high-quality reporting, communication, and stakeholder engagement across the directorate.

The postholder will develop and maintain positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across the university community, providing excellent customer service and helping to embed the Fit for King's culture in all aspects of project delivery.

Working as part of the Asset Management and Engineering team, the Project Coordinator will support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects across the estate, ranging from small-scale maintenance and improvement works to complex, high-value strategic initiatives. These projects contribute to the continuous enhancement of King's campuses, creating environments that support world-class teaching, learning, research, and student experience, while preserving and enhancing the university's historic and heritage assets.

This is a full-time position offered on an indefinite contract.

About you:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: 

Essential criteria

  1. Educated to degree level or equivalent professional experience.
  2. Experience of coordinating project activities, programmes, or operational workstreams within a complex organisation.
  3. Experience maintaining accurate records, reports, schedules, and project documentation.
  4. Experience supporting financial processes, including raising purchase orders, monitoring budgets, processing invoices, and maintaining financial records.
  5. Experience organising and coordinating meetings, workshops, and stakeholder communications.
  6. Understanding of project management principles, project lifecycles, and governance processes.

Desirable criteria

  1. Experience working within higher education, estates, facilities, construction, or project delivery environments.
  2. Knowledge of project management methodologies, governance, and reporting processes.
  3.  Experience supporting project finances, procurement, or contract administration.
  4. Project management qualification (e.g. APM PFQ, PRINCE2 Foundation) or willingness to work towards one.
  5. Experience using project management, financial, or reporting systems.
