Thank you for your interest in the Blind Veterans UK study. This study, commissioned by Blind Veterans UK, examined the mental health and well-being, quality of life, service use and perceived needs of younger (ex-)Service personnel who sustained a visual impairment. All participants are members of Blind Veterans, a charity providing training and rehabilitation to blind ex-Service men and women.

The study has finished and the results have been presented to Blind Veterans UK. Further, several scientific papers have been published (1,2) or have been submitted. For more information, please contact Blind Veterans UK directly, or contact the study coordinator on sharon.stevelink@kcl.ac.uk

Publications:

1) The mental health of UK ex-servicemen with a combat-related or a non-combat-related visual impairment: does the cause of visual impairment matter?

2) The prevalence of mental health disorders in (ex-)military personnel with a physical impairment: a systematic review.
