King's College London has been awarded the "Exclusive Global Employers' Choice Award" title at the 2023 Global University Career Development Conference (GUCDC) in Chengdu, China.

The conference, which took place in November, was attended by Phil Hardcastle, Employer Relations & Development Manager, who received the award on behalf of King's Careers & Employability.

The Award is part of the Conference’s “China Career Development Awards” which ended six days of discussions alongside employer visits to companies including ByteDance, Lenovo, Beijing ETown and Olymvax across Beijing and Chengdu.

A Job Fair also took place in Beijing, attended by King's students in the region, alongside many other returning nationals seeking employment with leading Chinese employers.

Presented by Lockin and GUCCU, these awards have been selected by our 60,000+ employers among 1,600+ global university partners, in recognition of the outstanding work of the universities and employers in supporting the overseas students with their career development during the year 2022.

Award-winning universities are deemed to have have a strong influence in Chinese enterprises and are the preferred universities for enterprises in overseas recruitment. The Conference host GUCCU, commented "the career teams of these universities have a strong sense of mission for students’ employment. In 2022, these universities have continued to make outstanding contributions to their international students with professional service and great passion, maintaining the bonds between employers and international students during such difficult period of time, which has greatly benefited the students in terms of their career development. At the meantime, the graduates of these universities are widely praised by many enterprises."

The Award builds on our 2022 award for Most Productive Careers Service Team which was presented virtually last year. Colleagues from over 50 other leading global universities also attended the Conference which is held annually.

The 2023 GUCDC conference has been an invaluable experience. Bringing together university teams from all over the world to discuss common issues and hear directly from Chinese employers about the challenges and opportunities currently in their market. The insights we have gained and the relationships built will prove invaluable I believe in shaping our future activity and collaborations.
